There are new lower rates for day use parking at Silver Strand State Beach in order to encourage locals and visitors to check out the area. Silver Strand offers dramatic scenic views, a natural beach setting, and educational programs, as well as surfing, other recreational water sports, picnic areas, or just going for walks.

The day use parking fees at Silver Strand State Beach are now $2 for up to an hour, $4 for up to two hours, or $8 for all day. The fees were previously $2 higher for each of the rates. According to the Park Superintendent Richard Dennison, “We want people to have better access to the great resources at this State Beach, particularly families in the South Bay area, as part of our outreach. It is anticipated the lower rates will encourage San Diegans and tourists to visit, return, and help support the State Park System, as user fees fund a significant portion of the budget.” An Annual Day Use Pass, good for twelve months, is also available for $195.
