California State Parks is looking to reshape the visitor experience at Carmel River State Beach by creating a new state park that would encompass both coastal and inland areas of the Point Lobos Ranch property
Nevada County officials have hailed the addition of $352,000 to the 2016-2017 state budget for a solar panel project at Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, money that if given final approval by the governor will enable the park to dispose of its current diesel engine and expand the area’s reach.
Smoking would be banned at California parks and beaches as a health and wildfire risk under legislation approved Tuesday by the state Senate.
The California Department of Parks and Recreation is proposing new rules that would bar visitors from venturing off the beaten path in sensitive areas within state parks, including some of the most popular destinations in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in eastern San Diego County.
