State Parks are Great Places for You and Me Youth Art Contest

Over 140 youth ages 4-18 entered CSPF’s inaugural Youth Art Contest, submitting artwork inspired by the theme of “California’s State Parks are Great Places for You and Me”. Thank you to all of our State Park Action Network members who helped distribute contest information to your local youth!

With so many talented artists participating, our judges had a difficult task at hand! Participants used a variety of flat media including chalk, marker, crayon, ink and pencil. They also captured the diversity of California’s state park system- from ocean, river and lakes to historic sites to forests, mountains and deserts.

We’ve created a short video highlighting this year’s award winners and finalists. We encourage you to take a few minutes to enjoy the wonderful artwork and see why young artists feel that California’s State Parks are Great Places for You and Me!

Each winner received a prize package from CSPF and our First Place winners also received gift cards from our contest partner, Subway.
